Shoring and Forming

Marr Scaffolding's Shoring and Forming Division provides heavy-duty aluminum modular shoring and forming systems; conventional steel and aluminum shoring systems; crane-moved modular and vertical wall forming systems; complete erection and dismantling services; in-house engineering and design services and a Contractor’s Supply Warehouse. Conveniently located on Dorchester Avenue in Boston, the store stocks a complete selection of chemicals and grouts, shoring and forming accessories, safety products and winter protection products.

Heavy-duty Aluminum Modular Shoring:
Marr is the New England distributor of the Hi-Lite Modular Aluminum Shoring System. The system is hi-strength and lightweight and has been engineered for quick assembly into various widths and configurations, saving time and labor costs over the course of a project. The system accommodates safe working loads up to 22,700 kg. (50,000 lbs.) per frame, when using a safety factor of 2.5:1. When using a safety factor of 2:1, safe working loads up to 27,200 kg. (60,000 lbs.) per frame are recognized. These modular aluminum frames are highly resistant to damage and have a long service life with minimal maintenance. Transportation, storage and handling costs are low because of its lightweight and demountable features.

Conventional Steel and Aluminum Shoring Systems:
Marr's Shoring and Forming Division rents Safway heavy-duty shoring known as Shore X. Shore X is a simple shoring system that: requires fewer towers to be erected and dismantled, thereby lowering labor costs; requires fewer types and sizes of components, reducing the cost of sorting frames and crosses and can help eliminate costly errors. Lower erection costs due to the simplicity of the system; lower stripping costs due to a quick and easy dismantling process; and, reduced cartage costs due to the lower number of types and sizes of components to be trucked are all possible with this system.

Aluma Shoring:
Combining lightweight aluminum frames with steel accessories, the Aluma Frame System can be erected without a crane, saving staging time, equipment and erection labor in higher shoring applications. The 6-foot wide frame promotes an open layout, providing easier movement for workers and larger shoring coverage per leg. Aluma's wider design results in 50% less components to handle in a given shoring area. Weighing only 42 lbs., a frame with base plates screw jacks and J-heads attached can easily be carried by one person. With an Aluma System, there is no need to dismantle components.

Erection and Dismantling Services:
Marr's Shoring and Forming Division provides erection and dismantling services for all shoring and forming rentals. The E&D crew is highly skilled and has received the necessary safety training to ensure safe working conditions.

In-house Engineering and Design:
Marr's Shoring and Forming Division provides CADD lay-out and design support for all shoring and forming systems and specialty design support for complex shoring projects.
