Fred Mahoney, 42-year-employee of Marr Scaffolding Company, lost his prolonged and courageous battle with cancer at his home on January 19, 2010.  He was surrounded by his loving family.

Long established as a distinguished professional in his field, Fred had risen through the ranks at Marr Scaffolding Company serving first as a Sales Representative, then Scaffold Sales Manager and finally as Vice President.  He was known for his strong leadership and strength of character.  A consummate professional, Fred was highly respected by his sales team who valued his knowledge, his experience and sense of fairness.  Over the course of his career, Fred mentored some of the finest service providers in the industry and continually inspired his team to perform to the best of their abilities. He was ever mindful of delivering timely and professional services to Marr's customers.  He was a true company man as well; working industriously for Marr each and every day.  Fred had what it takes to be a great manager -- he possessed good listening skills and was a creative problem solver.  He was a valued co-worker and friend to the many employees who had the opportunity to work with him during the course of his reputable career.  He and his wife, Nancy, became a vital part of the Marr employee community.

Fred orchestrated thousands of scaffolding and shoring jobs throughout New England for Marr.  In 2007 he was inducted into The Marr Companies Hall of Fame for his valuable years of service.  This company honor is bestowed upon those employees who are determined by their peers to be outstanding in their performance and professional integrity.  Fred Mahoney was a most deserving candidate. He will be sincerely missed by all those who knew him.
